Welcome to our Reading Wiki.
We are Year 5/6 students at Clairvaux Catholic School and this wiki has been created for the purpose of sharing our reading responses.

Each student has been given a page of this wiki to display work and record reflections about what they have been doing during their Reading sessions

Organisation
Our Reading group consists of 28 students who meet 4 times a week.

Whole Class: Each lesson begins with a short whole class session where skills are introduced.
Focus Groups: Seven students work each day with the teacher to focus on specific skills and to work on their individual learning goals.
Reading Activities: A grid of challenging reading activities have been developed for students to complete. Completed activities are submitted to a teacher for correction. Depending on the type of activity, students may add their work or a reflection on what they have learnt to their wiki page.
Teacher Notes and Assessments: The teacher uses an ipad and the App Evernote to record student progress such as - a link to Reading wiki page, list of books read, teacher comments from focus group progress, student learning goals, assessments and rubrics, lesson plans, photos, audio files.In Evernote the teacher has set up a Reading Folder containing a separate page for each student as well as links to web tools being used.
Teacher comments are shared with the students' Homeroom teachers via a Google Docs spreadsheet.
